Northwest Fire District partners with the Fire Data Lab

Northwest Fire District (NWFD) has partnered with the Fire Data Lab, a non-profit research organization, to explore new uses for real-time fire data analytics.  Through this partnership, NWFD received a grant worth $55,000 to provide the Intterra software platform, facilitating live streaming data collection.

“Partnering with the Fire Data Lab provides Northwest Fire an opportunity to further benchmark our performance and compare our data with agencies of similar size, geography, and demographics. As an accredited agency, we strive to make data-driven decisions to continually improve our services. Ultimately, our community and Northwest Fire personnel will benefit from this collaboration, “said Doug Emans, Assistant Fire Chief with NWFD.

NWFD will also be participating in a Data Analytics Summit that will bring fire departments together to determine what analytics they need and would like to see developed at the Fire Data Lab this year.
